IPSCO Steel, one of the world's leading producers of steel plate and tube, also has its headquarters and major manufacturing facilities in Regina. The provincial government also continues to be an important driver of the municipal economy.
Moose Mountain Provincial Park is in the Southeast, 24 km north of Carlyle. It is one of the only parks in Saskatchewan with towns inside. The only village in Moose Mountain Park is Kenosee Lake, the largest in the park and is a major tourist attraction. Seasonal activities in and around the lake include fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, swimming, boating, water sports, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, horseback riding, miniature golf and a playground 18 holes golf course. The area also provides excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing.
