Warehouse Manager

Description
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily warehouse functions across inbound receipts, product storage, order picking, packing, and outbound shipments to ensure smooth and accurate operations.
• Supervise, coach, and support warehouse staff by setting expectations, assigning work, and promoting accountability for results, quality, and safe work practices.
• Build staffing plans and work schedules that match business volumes and operational requirements.
• Lead employee development activities such as onboarding, training, performance discussions, and corrective action when required.
• Review operational results and key metrics to identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and drive better productivity and service levels.
• Create and carry out action plans that support targets related to safety, quality, delivery performance, and cost control.
• Work closely with Sales, Inventory Control, and Purchasing teams to help maintain stock availability and meet customer order timelines.
• Ensure warehouse procedures and standard work are followed consistently, and update or document new operating procedures as business needs evolve.
• Contribute to budgeting, capital planning, and variance review by providing operational input and recommending corrective measures.
• Maintain a respectful and safety-focused workplace by enforcing company policies and compliance with applicable regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
• At least three years of experience in warehouse or distribution operations, including exposure to receiving, storage, fulfillment, and shipping activities.
• Previous leadership experience overseeing employees in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution setting.
• Strong ability to coach teams, delegate work effectively, and manage employee performance.
• Experience using operational data and performance indicators to support process improvements and decision-making.
• Well-developed planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and with suppliers or vendors.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory processes, and materials handling practices is considered an asset.
