Our client, in the Greater Toronto Are (GTA), is seeking a Senior Accountant with strong P& C insurance experience to support financial reporting, reinsurance, and close processes while partnering with IT on finance automation initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities
• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Oversee underwriting and reinsurance system close timelines
• Prepare reinsurance reports for internal stakeholders and reinsurers
• Support audits, regulatory filings, and P& C reporting
• Partner with IT on finance systems and automation initiatives
• Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls

What You Bring

• Degree/diploma in Accounting or Business
• CPA / CA / CMA / CGA designation
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience with full‑cycle close
• P& C insurance background required; IFRS 17 experience essential
• Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude
• High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
