Senior Accountant

Our client, in the Greater Toronto Are (GTA), is seeking a Senior Accountant with strong P& C insurance experience to support financial reporting, reinsurance, and close processes while partnering with IT on finance automation initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities
- Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Oversee underwriting and reinsurance system close timelines
- Prepare reinsurance reports for internal stakeholders and reinsurers
- Support audits, regulatory filings, and P& C reporting
- Partner with IT on finance systems and automation initiatives
- Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls
What You Bring
- Degree/diploma in Accounting or Business
- CPA / CA / CMA / CGA designation
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience with full‑cycle close
- P& C insurance background required; IFRS 17 experience essential
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
