Human Resources (HR) Manager

Description
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead the human resources function for a growing, multi-site manufacturing organization within the food and beverage industry. This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in operational environments and brings strong experience supporting unionized workforces.
The HR Manager will play a key role in supporting leadership, enhancing HR processes, ensuring legislative compliance, and helping scale the organization during a period of continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the HR function across employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and policy administration
- Support a multi-site workforce, including union and non-union populations
- Ensure compliance with Ontario employment legislation, labour laws, and workplace safety requirements
- Partner with operations leadership to drive employee engagement, conflict resolution, and performance management
- Support workforce planning and hiring aligned with business growth and expansion
- Manage employee relations matters including investigations, discipline, and workplace accommodations
- Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and compliance documentation
- Contribute to organizational planning, succession planning, and workforce development initiatives
- Support compensation programs, attendance management, and HR process improvements
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused workplace culture
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience within food and beverage manufacturing (required)
- Direct experience working in or supporting unionized environments (required)
- Strong knowledge of Ontario employment standards, labour relations, and HR compliance
- Experience supporting plant-based or operational workforces
- Proven background in employee relations, policy development, and recruitment
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
- CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
