We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead high-performing development teams within a fast-paced environment in Toronto, Ontario. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a leader who can balance people management, technical oversight, and delivery accountability across web, mobile, and cloud-based platforms. The successful candidate will guide cross-functional collaboration, strengthen engineering practices, and help drive reliable platform performance while delivering complex initiatives from planning through launch.

Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day leadership to software engineering teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence across multiple workstreams.

• Coach and support developers through regular check-ins, performance discussions, and development planning to encourage long-term growth and engagement.

• Oversee the delivery of Agile application development initiatives, ensuring projects progress effectively from initial kickoff through production release.

• Coordinate complex cross-platform programs by aligning engineering efforts with business priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.

• Manage platform operations alongside application development activities, including production oversight, alert monitoring, and issue response.

• Promote consistent engineering standards, quality practices, and continuous improvement across development and QA processes.

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders in different teams and time zones to resolve challenges, maintain momentum, and support informed decision-making.

• Contribute to hiring efforts by participating in recruitment, interviews, and onboarding for new engineering talent.

• 10+ years of progressive experience in software development, including substantial hands-on technical work.

• At least 3 years of experience leading software development teams in an Agile delivery environment.

• At least 3 years of experience delivering technology projects with accountability for scope, timelines, and execution.

• Strong background in web, mobile, backend, and cloud-based application development.

• Experience managing platform operations, including production support, monitoring, and incident handling.

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to operate independently across multiple teams, apply sound judgment, and provide thoughtful technical leadership.

• Experience with tools and technologies such as Android development, Jira, C++, cloud technologies, QA management, and Agile Scrum is considered an asset.
