About the Role
We are a manufacturing facility located in Montreal-North that produces parts for the global aerospace market. We are currently seeking a Dimensional Inspector to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position within a stable company that has been operating successfully since 1971.
Main Responsibilities:
The Dimensional Inspector will be responsible for inspecting complex aluminum investment castings to ensure dimensional accuracy and overall quality. This includes performing visual inspections for surface imperfections, verifying the presence of all required casting features, and physically manipulating castings as needed to bring them into dimensional compliance. The role also involves preparing inspection set-ups, setting, adjusting, and using precision measuring instruments, and operating articulated measuring arms and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs). The inspector will prepare inspection reports, report non-conformities, and perform other related duties as required. Other duties will be assigned as needed.
Requirements:
Candidates must be able to read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings and possess a basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Basic proficiency with precision measuring tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, height gauges, and depth gauges is required, along with basic computer skills. Candidates must be bilingual (French and English) and able to work with technical drawings and documentation supplied in English by our international client base. Applicants will be required to undergo security background checks.
Preferred Qualifications (Assets):
Experience using articulated CMMs, such as FARO Arms, is not required but will be considered a strong asset and may improve a candidate’s chances of selection.
