Treasury Analyst

Description
Our client is seeking a Treasury Analyst to join a contract opportunity within the oil and gas sector in Calgary, Alberta. This role supports daily treasury operations, including cash monitoring, payment processing, banking activities, reconciliations, and vendor setup. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure accurate and timely transactions while maintaining clear visibility into cash activity.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor incoming payments, apply cash accurately, and ensure transactions are recorded correctly.
• Coordinate wire transfers within banking cut-off times and follow established approval processes.
• Review debit activity, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues with internal stakeholders and vendors.
• Prepare bank-related entries and complete timely account reconciliations.
• Communicate expected cash movements and cleared items to relevant business partners.
• Validate vendor banking information and coordinate vendor setup requests.
• Monitor shared mailboxes, prioritize urgent requests, and respond within required timelines.
• Compile liquidity information for scheduled reporting, including available cash and borrowing positions.
• Investigate rejected or unidentified payments and coordinate resolution with Accounts Payable and business units.
• Process physical cheques by scanning, tracing funds, and entering transactions into treasury workflows.
Requirements:
• Experience in treasury operations, cash application, or a similar finance function with exposure to payment processing.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling banking information and financial transactions.
• Working knowledge of banking operations, cash activity, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment while meeting daily deadlines.
• Experience coordinating wire payments and working within bank cut-off times and approval controls.
• Proficiency with financial or banking systems, including Qbyte or comparable software.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work professionally with vendors, Accounts Payable, and internal teams.
