Robert Half Canada is recruiting on behalf of an organization seeking a Systems Administrator to support, maintain, and enhance its IT infrastructure and core systems environment.

This opportunity is suited to a technology professional who enjoys troubleshooting, improving system performance, and helping ensure reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations. The successful candidate will work across infrastructure, systems administration, user support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support servers, operating systems, networks, and related infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, availability, backups, and security to help ensure stable day-to-day operations.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade hardware, software, and system applications.
• Support user account administration, access controls, permissions, and identity management processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system, server, network, and end-user issues in a timely manner.
• Assist with cybersecurity practices, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening.
• Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Document technical procedures, configurations, support processes, and system changes.
• Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support projects, maintenance, and issue resolution.
• Contribute to infrastructure improvements, automation opportunities, and technology upgrades.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, or a similar IT role.
• Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server environments, networking fundamentals, virtualization, and cloud-based platforms.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Active Directory, backups, endpoint management, and security tools is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with scripting, automation, monitoring tools, and IT documentation practices is considered an asset.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
