Our hospital client west of Ottawa is seeking a part-time Accountant for a two-month contract with the possibility of extension. In this role you will report to the head of finance and perform general accounting duties.

The Accountant’s duties will include:

• Performing monthly financial reporting
• Performing bank reconciliations
• Preparing and entering monthly journal entries
• Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets
• Reconciling deferred grants and donations
• Assisting with month-end close
• Preparing submissions to provincial and federal stakeholders
• Other duties or tasks as assigned

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting
• Sound knowledge of Healthcare Accounting and provincial guidelines
• Hospital experience a strong asset
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Accounting software packages
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
