Our client is looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join their team in Edmonton, Alberta. This role supports full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives that enable accurate reporting and informed business decisions. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys managing the full accounting cycle, preparing financial statements, analyzing results, and driving continuous improvements to accounting processes and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger review.
• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Analyze financial results, identify trends, and support forecasting and planning.
• Improve accounting processes, reporting, and system efficiency.
• Support tax compliance and filing requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve reporting issues and strengthen controls.
• Leverage advanced Excel skills for analysis, reporting, and data management.

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial statement preparation.
• An accounting designation with strong attention to detail is required.
• Strong experience with month-end close, journal entries, and general ledger management.
• Skilled in account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reporting, and data manipulation.
• Experience improving accounting processes and reporting.
• Knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, and tax compliance.
