We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a global industrial organization in Mississauga, Ontario. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, delivering reliable reporting, and supporting strong compliance practices across daily accounting activities. The successful candidate will contribute hands-on expertise across the full accounting cycle while helping improve financial processes and internal controls.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily accounting activities by preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and coordinating month-end and year-end close requirements.

• Produce monthly financial results, including reconciliations, reporting packages, and clear explanations of budget-to-actual variances for leadership review.

• Direct accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows to promote timely processing, accurate recording, and adherence to company policies.

• Administer payroll activities in line with applicable legislative requirements and established reporting deadlines.

• Partner with external auditors and public accounting professionals by organizing supporting documentation and assisting with annual financial statement preparation.

• Monitor compliance with relevant federal and provincial regulations, tax obligations, and financial reporting standards applicable locally.

• Prepare requested financial analyses and custom reports to support operational and strategic decision-making by senior management.

• Strengthen internal financial controls by reviewing existing practices, addressing risk areas, and recommending corrective actions where needed.

• Reconcile intercompany balances and maintain complete supporting records to ensure transactions are properly documented and resolved.

• Support accurate indirect tax filings and ensure transactions receive appropriate tax treatment across accounting activities.

• At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience gained in industry or within a public accounting environment.

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a Canadian accounting designation or actively pursuing.

• Practical experience managing full-cycle accounting, including payables, receivables, payroll, reconciliations, and period-end close.

• Sound understanding of Canadian accounting principles, indirect tax requirements, and broader regulatory obligations.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly.

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; experience with ERP platforms SAP FI Module would be a strong asset.

• High attention to detail, integrity, and a dependable approach to handling sensitive financial information.

• Proven ability to work independently, organize competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
