THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Financial Analyst to support complex financial operations related to restricted funding and grant management. In this role, you will review funding proposals and agreements, collaborate with funding recipients and other stakeholders to resolve grant-related issues, monitor deferred revenue balances and expiring grants, and interpret and provide guidance to operational and Finance staff on applicable policies and procedures. You will also prepare complex financial reports on restricted funds and revenues, prepare variance analyses, reconcile general ledger accounts and restricted funding receipts, complete month-end close procedures such as preparation of journal entries, coordinate or lead various year-end tasks and requirements, and support internal and external audit requests. As necessary, you will also coordinate and monitor progress of ad hoc or special projects and provide coaching and support to Financial Analysts and other entry-level positions.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Proven working success in a Financial Analyst role with strong understanding of revenue recognition principles, particularly for restricted funds
• Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines
• Hands-on experience with month-end close processes and year-end audit preparation and support
• Strong background in variance analysis and financial reconciliations
• Exposure to Oracle ERP systems
• Outstanding analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable coordinating smaller projects and guiding more junior finance staff
• Familiarity with healthcare or broader public-sector financial environments with knowledge of PSAS or ASNPO standards is a plus
• CPA designation (or working toward it); equivalent credentials considered a definite asset
