Robert Half is partnering with a growing organization in the food manufacturing industry to hire a Senior Accountant in Woodbridge, ON. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contributing to accurate financial reporting and process improvement.

The Senior Accountant will support month-end and year-end activities, reconcile accounts, analyze financial data, and help ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and working papers
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate variances
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and support inventory accounting processes
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Help ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and accounting processes
• Collaborate with operations and other internal stakeholders on financial matters

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA designation completed or in progress is considered an asset
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, food production, or a related industry
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment 

Preferred Experience

• Experience with inventory, costing, or manufacturing accounting
• Familiarity with internal controls and audit support
• Experience working in a mid-sized or growing organization
