About the Opportunity

A growing and well-established plaintiff-side litigation firm is seeking a Personal Injury Litigation Associate to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who is passionate about advocacy and client service and is looking to build or further develop a successful plaintiff-side personal injury practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of plaintiff personal injury matters from intake through resolution, settlement, mediation, or trial.
• Conduct examinations for discovery, mediations, motions, pre-trials, and trial preparation.
• Develop litigation strategies and assess liability, damages, and litigation risk.
• Draft pleadings, motion materials, mediation briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Work closely with clients, experts, healthcare professionals, and opposing counsel.
• Collaborate with law clerks, legal assistants, and support staff to advance files efficiently.
• Maintain compliance with court deadlines, procedural requirements, and internal file management protocols.
• Leverage technology and case management systems to maximize efficiency and client service.
• Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment. 

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Ontario and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Minimum 5+ years of plaintiff personal injury or civil litigation experience.
• Demonstrated experience handling files through discoveries, mediations, settlements, and/or trial.
• Strong knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and Insurance Act.
• Proven ability to assess liability, damages, and litigation risk.
• Experience managing a significant litigation caseload while maintaining excellent client service.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation, legal research, and drafting skills.

• Experienced plaintiff-side personal injury lawyer capable of independently managing files through litigation, mediation, settlement, and/or trial.
• Strong advocate with excellent litigation, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
• Entrepreneurial, results-oriented, and motivated to build a successful long-term practice.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative team player with sound professional judgment and a client-focused approach.
• Lawyers with strong insurance defence experience who are interested in transitioning to a plaintiff-side personal injury practice are also encouraged to apply.
