    Description

    We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a healthcare organization in Ottawa, Ontario on a Long-term Contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume payroll environment and brings strong accuracy, accountability, and service focus to their work. The successful candidate will support end-to-end payroll activities, benefit remittances, reporting, and related payroll administration while helping ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.

    Responsibilities:
    • Process payroll accurately and on schedule for a large employee population within a high-volume environment.
    • Review payroll data, validate earnings and deductions, and resolve discrepancies before each pay cycle is finalized.
    • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to support reconciliations, audits, and internal review requirements.
    • Administer benefit-related remittances and ensure applicable deductions are submitted correctly and within required timelines.
    • Calculate special payments, adjustments, retroactive amounts, and other payroll-related transactions as needed.
    • Maintain employee payroll records and update relevant information in accordance with established procedures and compliance standards.
    • Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and internal stakeholders, providing clear and timely issue resolution.
    • Support payroll compliance activities related to statutory deductions, tax considerations, and organizational policies.
