About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturer in Concord, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead plant operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support the company's ongoing growth objectives.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a proven manufacturing professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about operational excellence, employee engagement, safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations to ensure production, quality, safety, and delivery targets are achieved.
• Manage and mentor production supervisors, team leads, and operational staff.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and overall operational performance.
• Monitor KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and drive corrective actions.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Customer Service teams to optimize performance.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
• Lead continuous improvement programs using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and employee development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of progressive leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience managing production teams and operational processes.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, production planning, quality systems, and inventory management.
• Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and employee engagement skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience working with ERP systems and production reporting tools.
• Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training.
• Experience managing multi-department manufacturing operations.
• Experience leading change management and process improvement projects.
