I am currently supporting a fast-growing Quebec-based manufacturing company active in the development of automation and smart warehousing solutions in the recruitment of a key Mechanical Engineer for its Innovation Division.
Your Role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will play a central role in the design, development, and industrialization of custom automated mechanical systems intended for high-volume, high-complexity environments.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Designing automated machines and mechanical systems, from concept through production release.
* Translating client requirements and innovative concepts into reliable, certifiable, and industrializable solutions.
* Performing engineering calculations, technical validations, and feasibility analyses.
* Producing and validating technical documentation: drawings, reports, specifications, and manufacturing files.
* Managing development projects (timelines, budgets, suppliers, external resources).
* Collaborating closely with automation, design, and production teams.
* Participating in testing, compliance validation, and cost optimization initiatives.
* Providing internal technical support and contributing to continuous product improvement.
This is a hands-on position with direct involvement in detailed design and manufacturing drawings.
Profile Sought
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), authorized to seal engineering documents.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in machine design, ideally custom and automated systems.
* Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D design, assemblies, detailed drawings).
* Solid expertise in:
o Strength of materials
o Welded structure design
o GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
o Finite element analysis (FEA)
* Knowledge of automated systems: servo motors, sensors, conveyors, actuators, transmissions.
* Comfortable working in a project-driven, fast-growth environment.
Assets
* Experience in industrial automation, logistics, or smart warehousing solutions.
* Knowledge of industrial standards and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.

* Competitive base salary around $110,000, depending on experience.
