IT Architect

Description
We are looking for an experienced IT Architect to lead the design and evolution of enterprise network environments for a wholesale distribution organization in Mississauga, Ontario. This role focuses on building resilient, secure, and scalable infrastructure that supports business operations across complex Cisco-based environments and hybrid cloud platforms. The successful candidate will provide architectural direction, strengthen governance practices, and guide network modernization initiatives while aligning technology decisions with operational needs.

Responsibilities:
• Design and oversee enterprise network architecture, with a focus on routing, switching, and secure connectivity across distributed environments.
• Develop technical roadmaps that improve infrastructure performance, reliability, and scalability in alignment with business priorities.
• Lead architecture decisions involving Cisco routers, Cisco Nexus platforms, router and switch environments, and related network technologies.
• Establish standards for configuration management, documentation, and governance to promote consistency and reduce operational risk.
• Strengthen network and infrastructure security by incorporating resilient design principles, access controls, and best practices into architectural planning.
• Support cloud connectivity and infrastructure planning across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Windows Azure environments.
• Guide migration and modernization initiatives affecting network services and infrastructure components while minimizing disruption to operations.
• Partner with technical teams and stakeholders to evaluate existing environments, recommend improvements, and support implementation strategies.
• 7+ years of experience in IT architecture, network architecture, or infrastructure architecture roles.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Cisco technologies, including Cisco ASA, Cisco routers, and enterprise routing and switching environments.
• Solid understanding of configuration management, architecture governance, and enterprise architecture principles.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute infrastructure strategies that support security, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Experience working with hybrid or cloud-connected environments, including AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Relevant Cisco certification such as CCNA, or equivalent expertise in Cisco networking technologies.
