Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Do you care about the cause of homelessness and want to directly help people affected by this issue? We are looking for a person who is motivated to make a difference in the lives of others and who aspires to work in the community sector.
As an evening psychosocial worker, your mandate will be to intervene directly with Ricochet beneficiaries.
You will ensure that you meet the needs of beneficiaries, carry out appropriate interventions and support in order to develop their full potential, and thus contribute more broadly to a supportive and safe community.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the warm welcome and integration of Ricochet beneficiaries;
- Assess the needs of beneficiaries and carry out appropriate interventions with them in the shared experience and in compliance with the code of ethics and the code of life;
- In collaboration with emergency beneficiaries, ensure, at reception, infestation prevention procedures while respecting the established protocol;
- With harm reduction and empowerment approaches, support beneficiaries in their social reintegration and search for housing;
- In compliance with health standards, serve dinner to beneficiaries of the Ricochet center;
- Carry out the required quantitative and qualitative reports and report to team leaders any situation deemed relevant to the proper functioning of activities and any material breakdown observed within 24 hours;
- All other related tasks: providing shuttle service as needed, training new employees, welcoming volunteers and interns, welcoming potential partners, carrying out verification rounds;
- Ensure the cleanliness of the premises: daily washing, folding laundry, organizing storage rooms, dishes, cleaning surfaces (may include bodily fluids).
Knowledge:
- Good knowledge of psychosocial intervention approaches and techniques with vulnerable people (harm reduction, pacification, crisis intervention, etc.).
- Excellent knowledge of intervention in the context of mental health and consumption issues;
- Good knowledge of community accommodation resources;
- Good knowledge of the issues and realities of the West Island of Montreal;
- Good knowledge of online work platforms (Microsoft and Google).
Expertise :
- Excellent capacity in psychosocial intervention;
- Excellent knowledge of the crisis intervention process;
- Excellent ability to maintain professional and emotional distance;
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written, in French and English;
- Good human relations skills;
- High ethical standards and confidentiality.

Requirements
- Essential - Excellente maîtrise du français et de l’anglais or
- Essential - Diplôme d’études collégiales ou universitaires en
- Important - 2 ans d’expérience en intervention psychosociale
- Important - 1 an d’expérience dans le milieu communautaire
- Essential - Permis de conduire classe 5 obligatoire.
