Internal Auditor – SOX / ICFR

We are seeking a detail-oriented Internal Auditor with strong experience in SOX compliance and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR). This role will be responsible for evaluating control design, testing effectiveness, and supporting the organization’s overall risk and compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute SOX 404 testing for business processes and IT controls
• Assess and document ICFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting)
• Perform walkthroughs to evaluate control design and implementation
• Identify control gaps and recommend remediation actions
• Partner with process owners to strengthen internal control environment
• Support quarterly and annual SOX certification processes
• Assist with risk assessments and internal audit planning
• Prepare clear audit documentation, findings, and reports
• Liaise with external auditors and support audit requests
• Monitor remediation progress and validate control improvements 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA, CIA, or CISA designation (or in progress preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in internal audit, SOX, or risk advisory along with Banking / Financial Services industry experience is a must
• Strong understanding of SOX 404 and ICFR frameworks
• Experience with process documentation and control testing
• Knowledge of financial reporting processes (P2P, O2C, R2R, etc.)
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with audit tools is a plus

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in a public company or Big 4 / consulting environment
• Exposure to IT General Controls (ITGC)
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
