Our client is looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join a property and facilities management organization in Edmonton, Alberta. This in-office, long-term contract opportunity is well suited to someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and confident working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced finance environment. You will support core accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Complete bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding items within required timelines.

• Investigate and resolve intercompany balance discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting.

• Maintain fixed asset records, including updates to capital assets and supporting documentation.

• Support asset capitalization activities for revenue-generating properties.

• Assist with month-end close tasks, including schedules, reconciliations, and reporting deadlines.

• Analyze general and administrative expenses and prepare supporting financial analysis.

• Respond to operational inquiries related to inventory and asset accounting.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting or a related field.

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including reconciliations and month-end responsibilities.

• Experience with bank reconciliations, fixed assets, and financial reporting.

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.

• Experience with Power BI and Power Query is an asset.

• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Dynamics 365, Yardi Voyager, or similar platforms.

• Strong analytical and process improvement mindset.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
