Interim Director of Finance / VP Finance

Location: Waterloo North, ON

Schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

Term: 3-month contract (potential for longer-term consideration)

Our client, a privately held manufacturing business, is seeking an interim Director of Finance / VP Finance to support the organization. This role will oversee core finance operations, lead reporting and budgeting activities, support cash and banking requirements, and provide financial leadership during a period of systems and business integration change.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly financial and management reporting
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and department-level spend reviews
• Support cash flow management, banking requirements, and covenant reporting
• Provide oversight for inventory processes, invoicing, and working capital activities
• Lead project-based financial oversight, including costing and work-in-process review
• Support finance-related integration initiatives tied to ERP and entity consolidation
• Partner with operational leaders to improve visibility, reporting, and decision support
• Provide leadership to the accounting and finance team

Qualifications

• Proven senior finance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in job costing
• Experience in custom manufacturing
• Comfortable in a hands-on environment supporting both day-to-day finance and transformation work
• Experience with ERP systems; Open to all major ERP’s including Navision / MS Dynamics.
• CPA preferred
• Strong Excel and reporting skills
