HR Generalist

Description
Responsibilities:
• Manage the full hiring cycle by preparing postings, identifying candidates, coordinating assessments and interviews, drafting offers, and supporting onboarding activities.
• Deliver orientation sessions for new employees and assist with workplace training related to HR policies, practices, and employee programs.
• Monitor probationary review timelines, track attendance for new hires, and follow up with leaders to ensure performance checkpoints are completed on schedule.
• Provide guidance to supervisors and managers on HR-related matters, including employee relations, workplace expectations, and policy application.
• Act as a key contact for benefit and pension inquiries, helping employees understand available programs and resolving routine questions accurately.
• Maintain employee records and process HR transactions such as hires, status changes, and departures while ensuring documentation is complete and filed properly.
• Respond to employee questions involving vacation, sick time, leaves, pay-related concerns, and employee assistance resources in a timely and thorough manner.
• Prepare workplace identification badges and other required employee access credentials, including forklift badges where applicable.
• Support the communication and distribution of updated workplace policies and employee notices while promoting compliance with respectful workplace standards.
• Collaborate with payroll and internal stakeholders to address employee pay inquiries and provide additional administrative HR support as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist position, with preference for experience in a non-union manufacturing setting.
• A recognized HR designation or progress toward an HR credential is considered an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Hands-on experience with HR and payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Dayforce, or similar systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with the confidence to work effectively with employees and leadership.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment.
• Knowledge of HR administration, benefits coordination, training support, and workplace policies and procedures.
