    Description

    We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join a non-profit organization in West Vancouver, British Columbia on a long-term contract basis. This position will serve as a trusted partner to leaders by providing practical guidance on employee and labour relations matters, workplace accommodations, and day-to-day people issues. The successful candidate will help managers address complex cases with confidence while ensuring decisions align with legislation, policy, and sound HR practice.

    Responsibilities:
    • Provide day-to-day advisory support to managers on attendance concerns, performance-related issues, and employee conduct matters.
    • Lead and support employee and labour relations casework, including fact-finding, investigations, and issue resolution.
    • Guide leaders through workplace accommodation matters and help develop appropriate, compliant solutions.
    • Coach managers on how to handle sensitive staff situations and prepare clear, well-structured documentation to support next steps.
    • Review workplace concerns through the lens of employment legislation and identify potential organizational risk.
    • Prepare concise reports, summaries, and case documentation to record findings, recommendations, and actions taken.
    • Partner with a group of managers across the organization to deliver consistent HR advice and practical problem-solving support.
    • Use Microsoft Office tools to maintain records, produce correspondence, and create thorough documentation for HR matters.

    • Demonstrated experience in human resources advisory or HR business partner work, preferably in employee and labour relations.

    • Strong background in workplace investigations, case management, and resolution of complex employee relations issues.

    • Solid understanding of employment legislation, compliance obligations, and HR best practices.

    • Proven ability to advise and coach managers on attendance management, conduct concerns, and workplace accommodations.

    • Excellent report writing and documentation skills, with the ability to present information clearly and accurately.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and confidence using standard HR administrative tools (HRIS/UKG is an asset).

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility with leaders and employees alike.
