Our client is looking for a Financial Analyst to join their team. This role offers a mix of accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting responsibilities, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants exposure to both accounting and finance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analysis as part of the month-end close process.
• Assist with annual budgets, ongoing forecasts, cash flow planning, and variance analysis.
• Monitor the financial performance of long-term projects, including revenue recognition, project costing, margin analysis, and related reporting.
• Support billing activities, deferred revenue schedules, and project-related reconciliations.
• Assist with year-end audit requirements and preparation of supporting documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, streamline processes, and strengthen internal controls.
• Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business decisions.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or actively pursuing the CPA program required.
• 2-5 years of accounting and financial analysis experience.
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
• Experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Excel and the ability to work with large data sets.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Exposure to project-based, contract, manufacturing, engineering, construction, or distribution businesses would be considered an asset.
• Someone who enjoys taking ownership, is detail-oriented, and likes working across both accounting and finance functions.
