Our client is seeking a Financial Analyst for a 5 month contract. Reporting to the Senior Manager, FP& A, the key responsibilities of the Financial Analyst will be:

• Discuss with the different cost centres regarding their operational expenses

• Support monthly financial performance reports as required

• Use Adaptive Planning to support the overall budget process

• Prepare PowerPoint slide decks for budget discussion with senior leaders 

• Prepare Excel spreadsheets to do variance analysis using Office Connect 

• Other ad hoc requests as required by the FP& A team

The ideal candidate is a designated accountant (CPA or equivalent) or CFA with 3+ years of FP& A experience.

You also have the following key skills and experience for the job:

• Strong budgeting and forecasting experience

• Experience with insurance or financial institutions would be an asset 

• Experience using Adaptive Planning would be an asset

• Excellent listening and communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Engaging and collaborative   

• Self-starter and can work very independently

• Curious and always looking for improvements

• Advanced Excel skills
