Robert Half is partnering with an excellent organization that's looking to add a Financial Analyst to their Finance team in Ottawa. This is a full-time/permanent role.

Responsibilities:

• Review grant awards and sponsored funding arrangements to confirm allowable spending, funding conditions, and reporting expectations.

• Develop, maintain, and monitor budgets for departments, research programs, and clinical initiatives to support effective financial management.

• Track restricted funding, research allocations, and other designated accounts to ensure spending aligns with approved purposes.

• Examine cost patterns across laboratories, hospital services, and clinical operations to identify variances and improve financial performance.

• Prepare clear financial reports, forecasts, and summaries for leadership teams, faculty members, and principal investigators.

• Analyze revenue and expense trends to highlight risks, support planning activities, and recommend opportunities for cost control.

• Support compliance with healthcare, research, and grant-related financial requirements through accurate documentation and monitoring.

• Contribute financial insight to the assessment of equipment purchases, capital needs, and new research or program investments.

Qualifications:

• Post secondary education in Finance, Commerce and/or Accounting is mandatory.

• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting support, or budget administration.

• Experience in a Non Profit organization is strongly desired.

• Demonstrated experience working with grants, sponsored research funding, or other restricted funding sources.

• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, account reconciliation, and financial reporting practices.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using enterprise financial systems such as Oracle.

• Practical understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, invoice processing, and data entry activities.

• Familiarity with financial controls, audit support, and compliance requirements in healthcare, hospital, or academic environments is strongly desired.

• Ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and communicate findings to a range of stakeholders.
