Financial Analyst

Description
Responsibilities:
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries and account reconciliations in alignment with organizational policies.
• Conduct detailed quarter-end reviews and financial analyses, offering actionable recommendations to the Director of Finance.
• Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, vendor setup, payment processing, and inbox management.
• Develop and maintain organized financial records to facilitate timely and efficient financial close procedures.
• Compile quarterly financial statements for multiple chapters and support year-end activities, including accruals, schedules, and auditor requests.
• Reconcile key general ledger accounts, such as payables, liabilities, capital assets, investments, and select revenue/expense accounts.
• Process payroll on a semi-monthly basis, handling updates for employee changes, bonuses, taxable benefits, and garnishments.
• Monitor investment performance, identify risks, and prepare detailed quarterly commentary.
• Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance financial systems and controls, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is required; pursuing a relevant designation is an asset.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, and ADP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support financial planning and variance analysis.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
• Experience with investment management and monitoring is preferred.
• Familiarity with payroll administration, tax filing, and compliance processes is a strong advantage.
