We are currently searching for a dynamic Dispatch Supervisor at our Montreal office.  Reporting to the General Manager, Montreal Operations he / she will be responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the dispatch center located in Montreal, QC, serving Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes.
 
Tasks and responsibilities

• Act as the front-line supervisor for designated dispatch staff.
• Oversee the daily operations of the Montreal dispatch center, including the training and development of dispatchers.
• Provide operational backup to dispatchers during their weekly review of drivers’ road sheets and cover shifts during vacations, absences, or sick leave.
• Monitor and validate the accuracy of dispatcher entries within the computerized dispatch system (AS400).
• Ensure all deliveries and pickups are completed in a timely, cost-efficient manner while promoting the highest levels of customer satisfaction and on-time performance.
• Establish, monitor, and report on dispatch key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Conduct annual performance evaluations for all dispatch staff.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

 
Qualifications

• Post secondary diploma in a related discipline (logistics, administration, operations) or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in inland transportation.
• Management experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
• Computer literate.
• Bilingualism (French and English).

 
Skills

• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Proven excellent management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with little direct supervision.
