We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst with a strong background in finance to join our client's team in Vancouver, British Columbia. This is a long-term contract position within the energy and natural resources sector, offering an opportunity to contribute to critical financial data initiatives. The role involves ensuring data integrity, supporting system enhancements, and driving accurate financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Verify and maintain the accuracy of accounting data throughout all stages of the migration process.

• Analyze and validate financial data mappings to ensure compliance with established accounting principles.

• Conduct detailed reviews of master data elements such as Chart of Accounts, Cost Centers, and Profit Centers.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial requirements are reflected in system processes.

• Perform pre-load and post-load data validation and reconciliation, addressing any discrepancies promptly.

• Support the design and implementation of financial processes across Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, and Order-to-Cash streams.

• Participate in data governance initiatives, focusing on internal controls and data quality standards.

• Assist in testing, documenting, and refining financial workflows and system logic.

• Evaluate legacy accounting processes and reports to ensure seamless transition to new systems.

• Provide insights into financial data structures and compliance impacts during system transformation.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in financial data analysis and system migration.
• Proven ability to interpret complex financial data and apply accounting principles effectively.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance standards, and audit requirements.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA systems and their financial data structures is highly desirable.
• Experience in large-scale organizations or public accounting, including Big 4 firms, is preferred.
• Proficient in tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Azure DevOps.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Knowledge of data cleansing, mapping, validation, and migration processes.
