We are looking for a bilingual Controller to join our client’s team in Gloucester, Ontario on a Contract basis. This role is suited to a designated accounting specialist who brings strong leadership capability and a solid background in project-based financial oversight. The successful candidate will guide core accounting operations, support accurate reporting, and help maintain effective financial controls in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily accounting activities, ensuring financial records are accurate, current, and aligned with organizational standards.

• Oversee month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and the preparation of financial statements.

• Manage payroll administration and related financial reporting to support timely and compliant processing.

• Develop, monitor, and refine budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc financial analyses to support operational and strategic decisions.

• Supervise accounting staff, provide direction on priorities, and promote consistent performance across the team.

• Support project accounting requirements by tracking costs, reviewing financial performance, and reporting on project-related results.

• Prepare management reports using available financial systems and reporting tools, including customized output where required.

• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, while helping improve accounting procedures and system-based workflows as needed.

Qualifications:

• Accounting designation is required.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or team supervision responsibilities.

• Demonstrated expertise in project accounting and full-cycle accounting operations.

• Fluency in both English and French is required.

• Strong working knowledge of budgeting, payroll, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

• Experience using accounting software systems and related tools such as ADP, CRM platforms, and reporting applications.

• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to produce clear financial reports and ad hoc analysis for management review.
