We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations for an automotive dealership environment in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This position plays a central role in delivering accurate reporting, guiding operational leaders with financial insight, and supporting sound decision-making across the business. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with a practical, collaborative approach to improving performance and reinforcing effective financial practices.

Responsibilities:
• Direct the monthly close process and evaluate financial results to ensure dealership performance is reported accurately and on schedule.
• Interpret operating and financial trends, highlight areas of concern, and present practical recommendations to support stronger business outcomes.
• Work closely with General Managers and departmental leadership to identify opportunities to improve margins, control costs, and increase overall efficiency.
• Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and longer-range financial plans that support organizational goals.
• Oversee critical accounting reviews, including reconciliations, payroll, commission calculations, inventory balances, and other key balance sheet items.
• Maintain and enhance internal control measures while promoting consistent accounting standards and sound financial procedures.
• Support efforts to improve workflows and bring greater consistency to finance operations across multiple dealership locations where applicable.
• 5+ years of experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior-level accounting leadership position.
• Strong background in full-cycle accounting, month-end activities, and financial statement preparation and analysis.
• Accounting designation preferred, or equivalent depth of experience in automotive dealership accounting.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships and communicate financial information clearly to operational leaders.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including the use of PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions.
• Ability to manage priorities independently and perform well in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
• Automotive dealership experience is strongly preferred, particularly in environments supporting more than one location.
• Familiarity with dealership management systems, financial reporting platforms, and tools related to accounting, payroll, budgeting, and ad hoc reporting.
