Our client, a well-established and growing professional consulting organization, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead their accounting function and serve as a key business partner to leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative finance professional who enjoys balancing hands-on accounting responsibilities with team leadership and process improvement.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and experience managing accounting operations within a complex, multi-entity environment.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Oversee the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements across multiple legal entities.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
• Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis, reporting, and insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Coordinate annual audits and act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and scalability.

What We Are Looking For

• CPA designation required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience in a Controller or senior accounting management role.
• Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams.
• Strong operational accounting experience with ownership of the full accounting cycle and month-end close.
• Experience preparing multi-entity consolidated financial statements.
• Excellent understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting best practices.
• Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

Assets That Will Set You Apart

• Experience within engineering consulting, construction consulting, professional services, or similarly complex project-based organizations.
• Experience working in a multi-entity corporate structure.
• Exposure to ERP implementations or finance transformation initiatives.
• Process improvement mindset with the ability to streamline and enhance accounting operations.
