THE ROLE:

We are seeking a seasoned Controller for a 3+ month engagement to support a growing organization within the infrastructure sector. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee a small accounting team while actively contributing to day-to-day operations and driving process improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and mentor a team of 4+ accounting professionals
• Oversee full-cycle accounting and manage the month-end close process
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with ASPE
• Review contracts and support RFP processes
• Collaborate cross-functionally to provide financial insights and guidance
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement automation initiatives
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure SOX compliance
• Document workflows and enhance operational efficiencies

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• CPA designation (or equivalent) with 5+ years of relevant experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including ASPE and SOX compliance
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams
• Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
• Experience reviewing contracts and supporting RFP processes
• Strong focus on process improvement, automation, and controls
• Experience in project-based, engineering, or construction environments is an asset
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
