Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead accounting operations and support financial management across the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and helping ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end and year-end close
• Prepare, review, and present accurate financial statements and management reports
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activities
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations
• Coordinate external audits and work closely with auditors, financial institutions, and external advisors
• Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
• Supervise, mentor, and support the development of accounting team members
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
• Support system improvements and other finance-related initiatives as needed

Qualifications

• Postsecondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA designation
• Progressive experience in accounting or finance, including leadership responsibilities
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and full-cycle accounting
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
