We are looking for an experienced Controller to provide financial leadership for a dual-entity operation based in Mississauga and Vaughan, ON. This Contract position will oversee consolidated reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and core accounting activities while supporting sound financial decision-making across both businesses. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in multi-entity financial management, compliance, and performance analysis, along with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insights.

Work model: Onsite. Mississauga and Vaughan, ON.

Contract role with immediate start, and may become long-term.

Responsibilities:

• Lead budgeting, financial planning, and expenditure oversight for two related business entities, ensuring alignment with operational goals.

• Prepare and consolidate financial results across multiple entities and currencies using systems such as QuickBooks Online and other financial reporting tools.

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and analytical reports that provide timely visibility into financial performance at both the entity and consolidated levels.

• Review monthly results against approved budgets, identify variances, and present recommendations to improve financial and operational outcomes.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, payroll coordination, and period-end close processes.

• Produce accurate financial statements, forecasts, and forward-looking analyses to support leadership planning and decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and relevant Canadian regulatory and tax reporting requirements.

• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to support annual audits, statutory filings, and related financial reviews.

• Strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to promote consistency, accuracy, and financial integrity across both organizations.

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or controllership positions within manufacturing environments.

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; an accounting designation is considered an asset.

• Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and Power BI in a multi-entity reporting environment.

• Demonstrated ability to manage financial consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and consolidated financial statement preparation.

• Solid understanding of general accounting operations, including reporting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end processes.

• Knowledge of financial controls, compliance obligations, and accounting practices.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a complex business setting.
