Our client, a well-established company with over 75 years in business, is seeking a Buyer / Purchasing Specialist to join its team. About the Role

The Buyer / Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and support customer requirements. This person will also build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate the best possible costs, and help ensure high standards for quality and delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Process and release purchase orders to support business and customer demand
• Verify supplier invoices against pricing, quantities, and delivery details before approval
• Follow up on outstanding purchase orders to help ensure materials arrive as scheduled
• Review inventory and purchasing reports regularly to help avoid shortages
• Review supplier pricing for accuracy and maintain competitive cost levels
• Keep purchasing records and system information current and accurate
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to address supplier or product quality concerns
• Monitor excess and obsolete inventory and support efforts to reduce overstock
• Measure supplier performance and raise concerns when service or delivery issues arise
• Partner with suppliers on opportunities to improve inventory flow and lower overall spend
• Analyze purchasing and supply data to identify and reduce potential supply chain disruptions

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain
• Strong supplier relationship management and negotiation skills
• ERP experience, preferably with Dynamics 365
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

• 3+ years' experience as a buyer
