Our Kanata client requires an Assistant Controller for a six-month contract. this role, you will support key financial operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with accounting standards.

The Assistant Controller’s duties will include:

·      Supervising a small operational accounting team

·      Reconciling and maintaining GL accounts, including inventory, deferred revenue, and FX

·      Manage period-end close processes and meet reporting deadlines

·      Preparing monthly financial reports accurately and on time

·      Preparing audit support documentation for annual financial audits

·      Support additional accounting duties as needed

The ideal candidate will have:

·      CPA designation required

·      A minimum of seven years of progressive accounting and finance experience

·      Strong experience with general accounting, intercompany accounting, and month-end close

·      Global sales tax experience a strong asset

·      Foreign currency accounting experience is an asset

·      Advanced Excel and accounting software skills

·      Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

·      Able to work both independently and collaboratively
