Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization, is seeking an Assistant Accounting Manager to join their established team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role that combines financial reporting, team leadership, cost accounting exposure, and process improvement initiatives within a stable, growth-oriented environment.

This position reports to the Accounting Manager and will oversee a small accounting team while supporting the organization's financial reporting, budgeting, audit, and operational accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of three accounting professionals
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Maintain general ledger integrity and support subsidiary ledger reconciliations
• Manage fixed asset accounting, capitalization, and disposals
• Participate in cost analysis and operational reporting activities
• Support internal controls, compliance initiatives, and audit requirements
• Partner with leadership to review results and provide financial insights
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains
• Support various accounting and finance projects as required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• CPA designation or active pursuit of a CPA is considered an asset
• Strong full-cycle accounting and financial reporting experience
• Experience with month-end close, financial statements, budgeting, and audit support
• Manufacturing accounting experience, including exposure to cost accounting and inventory-related processes
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience within an accounting environment
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
• A continuous improvement mindset with an interest in streamlining processes
