Our client is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a finance team in Okotoks, Alberta on a Contract basis. This role focuses on high-volume expense reimbursements, travel and mileage claims, utility payments, and accounts payable support.

Responsibilities:

• Review and process employee expense claims, ensuring accurate coding and timely reimbursement.

• Manage high volumes of travel and mileage claims, particularly during peak periods.

• Process utility payments and investigate discrepancies as needed.

• Maintain accurate AP records through invoice entry, validation, and reconciliations.

• Monitor outstanding reimbursements and follow up on unresolved items.

• Respond to inquiries from employees, school staff, and vendors regarding payments and expenses.

• Support cheque runs, payment processing, and other disbursement activities.

• Review account coding and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.

Requirements:

• Background in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Experience with accounts payable, invoice processing, payments, and expense reimbursements.

• Knowledge of account coding, vendor maintenance, and payment processing procedures.

• Ability to work independently in a high-volume environment.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Experience with accounting systems; Concur, ADP, or similar platforms are assets.

• Basic to intermediate Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
