    Description

    We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our clients team on a contract basis in Agassiz, British Columbia. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our accounting processes while collaborating with a dedicated team.


    Responsibilities:

    • Process daily accounts payable transactions, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.

    • Manage purchase orders, including issuing, recording, and reconciling invoices, while obtaining necessary approvals for high-value requests.

    • Ensure timely payment of accounts payable while maximizing applicable discounts.

    • Complete monthly credit card reconciliations with appropriate expense coding within specified timelines.

    • Support payroll and personnel file data entry as needed.

    • Assist with data entry related to equipment allocations, project costing, and fuel reconciliation.

    • Maintain an organized filing system for accounting records.

    • Implement and uphold controls over accounting transactions to ensure compliance and accuracy.

    • Collaborate with the Office Administrator on administrative tasks when required.

    • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on spending trends and account reconciliations.


    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounts payable or similar accounting role.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
    • Strong skills in invoice processing, coding, and account reconciliation.
    • Ability to manage check runs and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
    • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and management.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
