Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk for a long-term contract role in Edmonton. This position involves managing high-volume AP operations within a fast-paced construction environment, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and process improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Process high volumes of invoices (approx. 1,700/month) across multiple entities
• Ensure compliance with payment policies and procedures
• Manage payments including cheques, wire transfers, and credit cards
• Perform data entry, reconciliations, and payment runs
• Upload bank statements and support timely processing
• Use Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) for reporting and analysis
• Support and mentor junior team members
• Identify and implement process improvements

Requirements:

• 5+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in construction
• Diploma in Accounting or related field
• Proficiency with accounting systems (Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP)
• Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
• Strong organizational skills with experience handling high volumes
• Knowledge of payment compliance and reconciliations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
