Robert Half is partnering with a respected organization in the retail industry to hire an experienced Accounting Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who brings strong analytical skills, a solid foundation in accounting, and the ability to support financial operations across multiple locations.

Reporting to senior finance leadership, the Accounting Manager will play a key role in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, payroll oversight, and business analysis. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-location environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, and key performance dashboards
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes to support business planning
• Evaluate financial results, identify trends and variances, and deliver insights to support decision-making
• Monitor spending against budget and contribute to initiatives focused on cost control and operational efficiency
• Support year-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting across multiple locations
• Oversee payroll review and processing, including remittances and year-end documentation
• Maintain compliance with payroll, tax, GST/HST, and other statutory reporting requirements
• Assist with audits, inventory assessments, and the maintenance of effective internal controls
• Track project-related costs and assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives
• Review corporate credit card activity and follow up on discrepancies or unusual transactions
• Provide support with insurance-related administration, investment reporting, and special projects as needed
• Collaborate with the broader accounting team to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities
• Create and maintain advanced Excel reports, models, and tools to improve financial visibility and reporting accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline financial analysis, or financial planning and analysis
• Full cycle accounting experience in an inventory based environment
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and modeling principles
• Payroll processing experience and familiarity with government remittances are considered an asset
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
