Accounting Manager

Description
Our client is hiring an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations and support financial accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across the business in a multi-entity environment. This role partners closely with finance leadership and operational stakeholders and oversees an accounting team.
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and leading the daily operations of the accounting function, ensuring workflows align with organizational standards, timelines, and internal controls. This position plays a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and team leadership across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a multi-location accounting team
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Oversee the preparation, analysis, and monitoring of budgets and forecasts
- Analyze financial and operational data to assess performance at both the company and business-unit levels
- Partner with department leaders to support cost management, projects, and business initiatives
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, and accuracy
- Maintain appropriate documentation for processes, procedures, controls, and key decisions
- Monitor regulatory and legislative changes and support ongoing compliance
- Liaise with external advisors related to accounting, tax, and audit matters as required
- Manage, coach, mentor, and support a team of employees
- Act as a finance subject matter expert on cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Provide leadership support to accounts payable and accounts receivable teams when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by finance leadership
• A CPA designation is required, with at least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, including leadership responsibility within a multi-team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and influence large teams, including oversight of more than 20 indirect employees.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and core accounting operations.
• Experience using accounting and enterprise systems such as ERP platforms - experience with SAP FSCM is required.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data and communicate insights clearly to business leaders.
• Proven people management skills, including coaching, performance evaluation, hiring, and team development.
