Our client is looking for an Accounting Analyst to join a Long-term Contract opportunity in Calgary, Alberta within the Oil & Gas Services sector. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to work with complex financial and operational data.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and insights.
• Extract, organize, and reconcile information from ERP and other systems.
• Perform cost analysis and evaluate results against business expectations.
• Build Excel-based reports using formulas, pivot tables, and lookup functions.
• Investigate discrepancies between systems and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Support transaction reviews, AP activities, and payment-related processes as required.
• Analyze commodity, logistics, and operational data where applicable.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve data quality, reporting, and financial analysis.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline.
• Experience in an analytical role involving accounting, financial analysis, or data interpretation.
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs.
• Hands-on experience with ERP or business systems and the ability to understand how data is captured and reported.
• Comfortable working with large data sets and performing detailed data analysis and manipulation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present findings.
• Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Oil & gas, commodities, freight, or logistics experience is an asset; RightAngle or Allegro experience is beneficial.
