Our client is looking for an Accountant to join a non-profit organization in Calgary, Alberta on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who can support reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and financial analysis while helping maintain accurate and efficient financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements, cash flow reports, forecasts, and reporting packages
• Analyze financial results, trends, and variances and communicate insights to leadership
• Build financial models and support planning and forecasting activities
• Complete bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Post journal entries, allocations, and amortization adjustments
• Support annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes
• Prepare grant-related financial reporting and monitor funding compliance requirements
• Assist with finance process improvements, reporting automation, and system support

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience with exposure to full-cycle accounting
• Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Strong Excel and accounting software/ERP skills
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and general accounting support
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Experience with Salesforce tools, Certinia, CloudBudget, Tableau, or non-profit/grant reporting is an asset
