We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our client's team in Vancouver, British Columbia. This is a long-term contract opportunity within the energy and natural resources sector, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial operations and ensuring accuracy in accounts payable, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Process a high volume of invoices monthly, ensuring accuracy and proper three-way matching.

• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions across multiple legal entities.

• Perform accruals and support month-end close activities to maintain financial accuracy.

• Handle journal entries and maintain general ledger integrity.

• Assist with employee expense processing and ensure compliance with company policies.

• Utilize Sage Intacct and other accounting software to streamline financial operations.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless accounts payable processes.

• Participate in reconciliation processes to maintain accurate financial records.

• Support the preparation of financial reports and provide insights on spending trends.

• Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to accounts payable.

• Proven experience in accounts payable and general accounting functions.
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
• Strong skills in Excel and other financial tools for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Ability to manage intercompany transactions across multiple entities.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle a high volume of invoices.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
