    Description

    We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a healthcare organization in Toronto, Ontario on a Long-term Contract basis. This position is well suited to someone who can step into a busy controllership environment, manage urgent accounting matters, and bring structure to core financial activities. The successful candidate will contribute to month-end close, financial reporting, audit support, and ongoing process improvements while working hands-on with transactional accounting and reconciliations.

    Responsibilities:
    • Oversee key controllership activities and address priority accounting issues in a fast-paced environment.
    • Manage month-end close tasks, ensuring entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation are completed accurately and on time.
    • Prepare financial reports and assist in maintaining reliable accounting records for internal and external use.
    • Support audit requirements by gathering documentation, responding to inquiries, and coordinating follow-ups with relevant stakeholders.
    • Review historical accounting information to clarify balances, investigate discrepancies, and strengthen reporting accuracy.
    • Contribute to day-to-day transactional accounting activities, including accounts payable, invoices, payroll-related accounting, and account reconciliations.
    • Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and implement practical process enhancements within the finance function.
    • Use NetSuite and other accounting systems to maintain data integrity and support ongoing financial operations.
