    Description

    We are looking for an Accountant - Entry Level to join a government organization in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Contract basis. This fully on-site opportunity is suited to an early-career accounting candidate who can support daily financial operations with accuracy and strong organization. The role will focus on payables review, reconciliations, and maintaining well-documented records while assisting the team during a finance transition period.

    Responsibilities:
    • Complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to help maintain accurate financial records.
    • Prepare reconciliation support and documentation related to GST and other assigned accounts.
    • Review accounts payable invoices, confirm supporting records are complete, and organize documentation for processing.
    • Maintain orderly financial files and ensure records are retained in a manner that supports audit readiness.
    • Cross-check invoice details against Excel-based tracking logs to confirm accuracy and completeness.
    • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and provide supporting analysis when requested.
    • Perform detailed reviews of accounting information to identify errors, missing items, or inconsistencies.
    • Provide short-term accounting support related to ongoing finance transition activities and follow handover guidance from leadership.
    • Experience in entry-level accounting, entry-level accountant, accounts payable, or intermediate accounting roles.
    • Working knowledge of core accounting principles, including debits, credits, and account coding.
    • Hands-on experience with GST filings, reconciliations, and related backup documentation.
    • Strong proficiency in Excel for tracking, review, and reconciliation tasks.
    • Ability to manage assigned work independently and maintain productivity with limited supervision.
    • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong document organization skills.
